With this being the last week I decided to make sure I completed my over all goal. I continued to practice and work on getting my sight pins to be just right. I finished with 3 sets of 5 arrows being within an inch apart of each other. this project definitely helped my shooting and I am very happy I did it. I hope you liked my updates and it helped you learn something new.

This week I traveled to my friends house, where we shot for almost 2 hours. We would shoot and then adjust what we needed too. My friend was able to increase the poundage on my draw weight making a tad bit heavier. With the weight being increased this caused my bow to be shooting faster and caused it to not be sighted in. Because the draw weight is now heavier, the bow is shooting higher because of the force behind the release action of the string.
Hello everybody, this week has been a little difficult to progress in my shooting because of the weather. It has been raining on and off for days. I took this time to focus on the basics and played around with the arrangements. My peep sight has continued to move over the weeks when the bow is at rest, with this being an issue, I took it over to my grandfathers. He retied the sight onto the string because it was not tight enough where it was at.
For week 9 I decided to challenge myself and raise the poundage on my bow, I went from 35 pounds to about 45. It made a remarkable difference in the longer range shooting, before my arrows had a hard time reaching the target and now I can stand at 30 yards and not have to worry about going to find my arrows in the ground somewhere.
This week is being focused on consistency, my brother and I have been shooting every other day to make sure our bows have stayed the same. My top sight for 10 yards is continuing to shoot accurately, however, my 15 yard and my 30 yard pins are shooting a tad off. Stay tuned for next week to watch how I fix it.
Hello guys, this week we are going to focus on more tips with shooting along with knowing how to be comfortable with your bow. One tip that I failed to mention in the weeks past and is one that should probably be the most important one would be: Never ever dry release your bow. That means to not release your bow without an arrow in it.
To work up to some of your goals for your bow, time managment is a very good way to keep up with your shooting. You need to make time for yourself to shoot your bow at least twice every week. Practice makes perfect. I have been doing more research on my bow and trying to learn more tips for shooting it. One website I have found showed me an acronym that I have tried to put into while shooting.
Specific- know what you are hitting Measurable- make sure your sight is in range with your target Achievable- the target should be something that you know you can hit Realistic- having a practical idea Time-Bound- try to reach a goal with your shooting by giving yourself time Keeping those in mind while shooting have helped me out a ton. This week I have began to mess with my grandmothers bow. Hers is a compound however, it is not as high tech as my diamond bow. I wanted to see the difference between mine and hers and sight hers into my ability to shoot it. Basically between ours I still use the same releaser, arm guard, and arrows, it also does not have a kisser on hers nor any of my other features. (silencers, weight, peep sight, and 3 sight pins) I have began to make progress withy own by continuing to shoot it, although one day this week, I was cleaning up my room and picked up my bow and when I did I realized I did not tighten the mount of the pins on tight enough or did I remember to put the screw back on. Whenever I do sight my pins I take the whole mount off in order to do so. So this weeks blog post might be a bit of a fail.... Stay tuned for next weeks.
